Or maybe the fact that you can't dissociate antisemitism and the safety of Jews in America from Israel-Palestine IS the issue? I don't see these people as "Pro-Palestinians". I see them as vile antisemites. I bet some of them just use Palestine as a cover. And that's why I made sure I didn't mention that word in my thread, not to associate pro-Palestinians as a whole with this, and to simply judge the evil nature of these individuals on their own.

Your post about the issue isn't "triggering some feelings" and you didn't just say "antisemitism is bad". If you didn't insert Andy Ngo into it, my first sentence here would have been my only one. I've said nothing to defend the protestor's actions and nothing about the Israel/Palestinian conflict on this thread. Your inclusion of a hateful libsoftiktok-type grifter for no reason on a pop star fan site is silly and dangerous so I pointed it out. And I said I agreed with @high culture because this isn't the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time a thread about this issue has lead to someone propping up deeply f*cked people as places to get news from. It's because since October of last year, being anti-Israel has been equated to being antisemitic by people who want to detract from others who point out Israel's crimes against the people of Palestine.

Accusations of antisemitism are often made in bad faith and used as weapons to invalidate criticism towards Israel to the point that many in the pro-Palestine crowd roll their eyes at it now. Not because they don't recognize that hating jews is bad, but because they've been accused of hating jews often simply because they want the mindless genocide to stop.

Speaking of which, the guy you've been criticized for platforming here is one of those "anti-Israel = anti-Jew" types. You should reconsider using anything from him in future discussions.

I think his frustration is maybe that the actual antisemitism in the video goes unacknowledged, and he's wondering why that degree of hate for you takes second place to an off-topic point about somebody's position on the spectrum. if something is verifiably true, and there is no reasonable trigger to doubt its authenticity/integity, criteria in my opinion which that video meets, then it doesn't matter who it was posted by or what their other opinions are - what matters most is the content? I'm not tryna be toxic or anything though, just advancing the discussion

No that wasn’t it at all. When we originally banned these threads we got a lot of comments about how agreed with this or that by allowing people to post their opinions. Being accused of siding with these people killing others or whatever. It was draining and made me want to walk away from this site. So now it’s just better if we stay out of it unless someone really crosses a line. (Hopefully that makes sense.)
