John Wayne 4,392
While I do believe some of you are too harsh on her songwriting based of one string of lyrics (the title track), I do agree the production feels tired. I know Taylor likes sticking to the same collaborators, but ttpd feels like a continuation from her past three albums without any freshness. For instance, So Long, London sounds like a revised Mastermind, which was the same case for Suburban Legends. Still, the song is hauntingly beautiful. You could really tell she believed she found the love of her life.

Imagine being the biggest pop star on the planet and working with the same guy while doing the same boring sounds. it’s sounds basic, rushed and flat. She’s surrounded with “yes” people. I think them album is gonna be a misfire for sure. Meh. My issue is the album isn’t even going to be a misfire, it’s probably going to be one of her highest selling if not highest selling record ever, but it’s so bland and uninspired it’s frustrating to see vastly more inspired soundscapes from so many different artists be ignored or undervalued in trade for famous blonde and white woman doing the same thing again Edited April 18 by Dawson 4

This collection is sooo one note. It's like she got given a zip of 60 minutes of Antonoff beats and had 16 iCloud notes to read through

Bowman 7,849
One thing I’ve noticed Taylor does, and it makes all her songs sound the same. The way she sings each song, it’s like she goes up and down the scale rapidly. I can’t explain what you would call this. And then after finishing the verse she finishes like she’s out of breath with a spoken word voice. It’s so annoying lol Check out my new single 'Loon' - https://open.spotify.com/track/7q1GGm2mBlC9hPWige0C6e?si=6b5319d0e3b44fa6

Sneaky Oliver 21,247
I don’t think it’s THAT similar to Midnights. It’s more like a Midnights and Evermore child. I feel like the production is too timid, like it’s afraid of sounding too “indie” but tbh this is exactly how it would sound the best. Florida!!! is a huge highlight for me, I’m so happy Florence has a solo verse Fortnight is the obvious single and hit from the album like Anti-Hero. I can see “I can do it with a broken heart” becoming a single as well. I mean if Bejeweled got a chance to shine, this one deserves it too. The title track completely lacks title track energy, it’s not even an average song on the album.
