Cavadour 2,008 Posted April 10 Share Posted April 10 Now I watched this trailer several times. I love it. I love also the fact that the trailer doesn't really spoils what's going on. We don't have clear clues if what we see is real or taken from Arthur's or/and Harley's delusion. Folie à deux. Yep. The interaction between them is big and strong and the nature of their bond looks complex to say the least. Good. I wasn't keen to see anything too caricatural like what's presented in the comics. I think this part and this movie is the best fit to Gaga since the Countess in AHS. It's bad romance all over again. We all love an unhinged and provocative Gaga. I really loved her in ASIB and HOG, but here, I think the role is a better match for her. There's more space for her versatility to shine through Harley's character. Can't wait for J2. And now I really NEED to watch the first movie. I think I'm finally ready to appreciate Joaquin performance and the specific tone and mood in it. J2 and the upcoming LG7 look like the best way to rekindle the flame in little monsters' souls. At least to tame down the tiresome sarcastic spirit which has flourished on GGD in recent months... I've not seen her dressed in doctor's clothing at any point, she's dressed completely as a patient at points, her sleeve in the final scene is black. In any case, Joker was taking a classic character and remaking it in a completely new direction so Harley may well be too. Watching the first isn't necessary but definitely recommended. If you have a pre-existing connection with Joaquin, his chemistry with Gaga will be all the more powerful and you may appreciate the trailer and the eventual movie even more. I can't explain what it was like for those of us who have already seen the first one to see this new trailer. Even watch the trailer of the first movie to get a feel for it first and get prepared for how music will be used in the sequel. My Way got a huge injection of interest after the first film and even started to be played on radio so I'm hoping great things with a whole movie full of songs. I think the trailer shows us two different moments of their lives tho. BUT what if they planned a prequel to this to show us Harley's journey?
