Choreographer Laurieann Gibson aka Boomkack unlocked some details about the reasons she stopped working with Lady Gaga.

This is the first time she has ever revealed any details about what led to the end of her relationship with Lady Gaga. She goes into detail about no longer wanting to be a "yes" man.

"Many people don't know that I met her [Gaga] unsigned before she recorded 'Just Dance' and developed her for years before all the music was made and when no one was looking." She claims she met Gaga shortly after being fired by Diddy, "I was like 'I don't want to work with any black people!'... Not that it was right, but it was difficult for them to understand my gift and my vision."

After claiming to have wirrten the "Monster Ball" as a young girl, she says, "When this business gets you to a certain place, the fame is a drug. And there's actually a time when you see the drug operate and you have a moment to make a decision as an artist. If you drink that kool-aid and if you take on that drug of fame, you're going to have to live that out. I think some artists lose their way."

"It got sticky to be oppressed and to be a black woman behind a white female and not have the freedom to continue to do what I did everyday, creatively, every show, every step and have the respect. So, I couldn't fight anymore. I couldn't fight everyone that was intimidated or affected by my gift and the fact that I'm a black woman, the fact that I'm not going to say yes when it's not right. I'm not going to allow my artist to set their *** on fire... Once you stop my collabortation from being honest then I have to leave."

It seems like shes taking a lot of credit for Gaga’s success, going as far as calling her “her artist”. The Haus of Gaga wasn’t just Laurianne Gibson sculpting out a vision, there were other creatives involved, including Gaga. The ultimate vision is Gagas- the star, and it seemed like she couldn’t handle not being able to call all of the shots.

There are so many facets to Gaga being a successful artist- of course Boomkack was one of them. But she gives “you’d be nothing without me”, and that’s been untrue for 13 years now.

She didn’t say anything about being a “yes man” though. Her quote of “not going to say yes when it’s not right” is referring to the Judas music video. Laurieann had some objections because of her religious beliefs, and wasn’t comfortable with Gaga’s vision, hence we got a tamed down version. She clearly wanted more control creatively and was speaking like it was only her career and not Gaga’s too. She’s the artist and should have final say of what’s put out under her name.

She’s always acting like she invented Gaga, I’m not saying she didn’t help but what happened after she left Gaga? Who else had the same level of success as Gaga because of her? … the narcissism always comes out..

I won't ignore the struggle black women suffer especially in show business, and being replaced by that untalented hack (Richy) was throwing salt in a wound but the way she expresses herself is confusing. She doesn't acknowledge anything directly, and it sounds like she wanted to own or command everything using Gaga as her avatar for her own "talent, gift, and vision".

I think that’s where Laurianne got mixed up. Gaga and the rest of the team weren’t only interested in Laurianne’s vision, and thus they were all the yes men. I think ego played a role in her departure, playing second fiddle wasn’t enough for her, and when her shots weren’t called she dipped.

This was in 2017 before ASIB and Chromatica happened, I was like girl did they not see she won an Oscar and had one of the biggest songs of the decade in 2018/2019? And Chromatica was super Gaga without Gibson?

This is why I'm always confused about her and Richy Jackson. Like here she phrases it like she wants most of the credit for what Lady Gaga did. I understand and agree with the strong importance of giving black women voices, but that isn't what the issue is about in this case. Lady Gaga always gave her a spotlight.

For Richy, I thought she left and kept it more of a secret that it was his fault. However, when I read stuff like this I'm not sure what to think anymore. Maybe it was both issues?

I personally believe boomkak just hated the fact Gaga was becoming so successful and wanted it her way.

She didn't understand why Gaga wanted to include the Electric Chapel imagery in Judas and definitely couldn't comprehend Gaga turning into a mermaid for The Edge of Glory.

If this is what she needs to say to move on and get her 15 mins, let her. She clearly needs it.

The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥

That's not necessarily true. In the early days Gaga referred to herself as only a visible representative/expression of all the talent in Haus of Gaga, à la Warhol's The Factory, which she herself referenced as an equivalent.

The truth is we don't really know how Gaga worked with her creatives back then. From interviews with Starlight etc., it does seem like it was far more communal than it is now.

She actually made many comments on the end of her Gaga collab along the years and it's often the only thing still giving her some buzz...

She started saying it was about the direction it took artistically then made general blames that could implicate Gaga or not letting people assume if Gaga was a vilain or not... After that she kinda took credit for Gaga's "creation" like others as Rob fusari already tried to do do...

I also remember her giving the Gaga hate train exactly what it wanted by saying publicly she took from Madonna for her work with Gaga right after the split, the next day folks were like "so it's officially confirmed she was planned as a new Madonna by labels now"...

She also talked about Gaga limited rhythmic ability" etc before to say she wanted to work with her again after never really having such a big artist again...

I think her old team (and maybe Gaga too) just couldn't handle all the success and all the crazy schedule that Troy was pushing them into, they all needed a break, but BTW era was just unstoppable and borderline abusive, they had to work on new performances weekly, 5min+ long music videos, constantly been on top no matter what, until everything started to fall apart from TEOG music video when Joseph Kahn left for "some issues on the set" as Gibson said.

They all wanted a piece of that success, but at the same time they wanted the full credit for that success, ignoring that the majority of the vision and the artistry is of Gaga, they were the tools that helped her to bring her vision and artistry to life, but they couldn't handle being in the background.

Also, Gibson always wanted to be the star, she tried twice to have a music career (as herself and as Harlee) just to flop badly, it was more a jealously than ego.

Her excuse that after Judas things became dark and against her religious belief are bullshit because one second after she left Gaga, she worked with Nicki on that Roman Reloaded performance, which was more blasphemous than Judas lol

I think we agree here.

I meant Gaga- the star was going to go in directions that wouldn’t necessarily align with all, she had the final say in the vision.
