I did want this very much. however after listening to act ii 3 times no thanks. I want Gaga on a collab with Beyonce on a song that will be remembered as much as Telephone did. these songs are nothing of the sort and this album would not stand alone before Renaissance. They made the best decision to release it now after the hype from the tour and everyone just saying anything just because it's her without actually having an ounce of knowledge when critiquing the album. If it wins AOTY because of the Jay-Z comment and the timing of this release it will be hilarious.

Just because you didn’t enjoy the album doesn’t mean everyone is “just saying anyhing” lmao. Most of us genuinely enjoy the record. Your opinion isn’t the final word on the album.

ok i've listened through twice now and my god it's fantastic wow

I'm having trouble picking just five favorites... nearly every song is a smash

like Renaissance, I love how the album is sequenced and how it flows through different moods and styles. the press release said it best, "a celebratory authentic gumbo of sounds." and I think that's what I love most about it?? it's truly a melting pot of sounds, no song sounds the same as the next, but it's still a wildly cohesive collection of music!?

First part is strongest to me from Ameriican Requiem to Bodyguard. Most Wanted and Levii's Jeans are good, too! I appreciate that it's still very much a Beyoncé album. It's as much country as Joanne was country/americana, imo.

I don't care much for the interludes, however, and I feel as though some of the song are good ideas but not exactly fully fleshed out.

I’m so afraid to say this is her best work but I really think it is. And I haven’t really liked an album of hers since Lemonade.

Nobody is going to get better production out of her producers than Bey. That’s for sure

Imo there's some over-the-top and exaggerated praises in this thread but I will let it slide :huntyga:

Like with Renaissance, my first run through was underwhelming, but I can at least appreciate her vocals and there's so much experimentation and layers to the production, it's quite impressive.

I'm from the south US and can definitely appreciate a lot of the influences and sounds, but have never been a country fan. The awesome thing about Beyonce with R and CC is that SHE IS THE GENRE. She has become a master at fusion.

I get so bored with so much of today's music because the production is so basic and no one is original anymore. Even though sure, she uses samples liberally, but she uses them in a way that makes new, fresh sounding, timeless music.

Looking forward to revisiting this and falling in love like I did with Renaissance. It's been a wild ride with B since I saw "No, No, No" in 1998 when I was 9 years old :franminervini:

Wait I really like this album a lot. It certainly is not country at all, but didn't Beyoncé say that already? Album of the year so far imo

OK, so I played the album. I loved that it is country-ish but it's not completely country. At first listen I actually liked it more than what I liked Renaissance back in 2021. I don't think it's gonna be my favorite album by her on the long term, but this is surely top 3 in her discography.

I loved her versión of Jolene, Bodyguard and Riiverdance.
