Phaye Monster 8,672
Locals will never understand the ARTPOP Act II plight I’ve had “waiting for Brooklyn Nights to be released as a single” in my GGD bio since I joined YEARS ago. Lmao I'm an ARTPOP bitch, baby
Lucas 24,290
This is one of the reasons I dislike ARTPOP a lot. It could be beautiful songs like this instead we got Jewels & Drugs and other terrible soulless songs with recycled instrumentals etc Edited March 23 by Lucas 2 1
Anderson123 35,861
Lmao I love that this is happening to THIS song in particular. They're obviously not gonna do anything about it. They wouldn't ruin the pre-LG7 hype for a 10 year old leaked song.

DrKindnessKunt1999 5,731
Whoever reduced ARTPOP track list from 18 to 15 tracks really ****ed up. Brooklyn Nights could have been Bloody Mary’s little sister. Edited March 23 by DrKindnessKunt1999 2

Jewels N Drugs contributes to two important threads in the album, those being her relationship with the Hollywood machine + her unhealthy relationship with drugs. The first arc reaches a climax with Donatella and resolution with Gypsy, and the latter does the same with Mary Jane Holland and Dope respectively. Brooklyn Nights does not have a strong connection to any of the songs present on the final tracklist, besides maybe Gypsy for the sake of its background as a love song. Who knows if Brooklyn Nights and Temple were connected tho', since Brooklyn Night is about an old relationship and Temple was inspired by Taylor. True; You could probably rationalize sex/love arc on ARTPOP in the same vein as the drugs arc and the fame arc, with the 3 cut songs (BN/NOBTR/Temple) at the end of it, but obviously we didn't get that full 18-song tracklist, so it's not totally coherent

In the end the album had terrible critics and we lost hard for not hearing this mentioned gems. I'd rather she'd had picked quality over coherence. Imagine how many hidden gems are now on a limbo because these king of dumb choices Edited March 24 by NarlesLM
