When she tried to correct it they said she was lucky to be given a last name (as it was Jim Crow south). That name was given to Beyoncé when she was born and she’s become a once in a generation icon with it. Referencing it here on this album is a reclamation of that history combined with the Statue of Liberty-esque pose.
