Well, there is a very broad field between a cover with a female artists body or face on it and the cover she created :bear: like, just paint something abstract on canva, do some nature photography in a forest or open landscape or create something out of everyday things, photograph a street scene or idk... This is just very lazy and uncreative.

I mean, this is coming from the very same woman who has released covers in a bikini, underwear, and completely nude. These are artistic choices she made. So if she's feeling pressure to show her face or body, isn't this self-imposed by taking the popstar route?

Even Gaga didn't want to be a popstar anymore and she still turnt it out for the camera. USE THIS OPPORTUNITY to make a statement, create a world, deliver a concept.

It just comes off as pretentious, entitled, and out-of-touch to me. And brattish but perhaps thats the point?

that twitter account that she quoted is insufferable. had to mute them years ago. just the worst possible takes including about Gaga.

Its very strange. The font gives me headeache with the definition and colour. If its to emphasise the idea of being “bratty”, it could be done in a more Pleasing or interesting way. It Telles me absolutely nothing. We want to cherish our cds.

i actually was wondering the other day, with the silly Bay rumors for LG7… if in a parallel world venus bat cover would be the cover of the album. And if we’d ever get an álbum or vídeo without her. I think it could be so refreshing

4th Time Around

Charli has been getting on my nerves for awhile now. People will blame literally anything on misogyny these days to deflect criticism, right down to an album cover

NUTELLA

Maybe the "laziness" was intentional, and she just wants the music to speak for itself 🤷🏽‍♂️

Like Beyoncé 2013, except more internet-y looking

I personally am starting to find these deep-fried, meme heavy art styles to be boring… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not sure if I agree with her take on it, but I def understand the intention (even if minimal) for her album cover.

1. It’s call brat, so that’s already a “selfish” attitude that will be a theme on album, now reflected in the way the cover is a bit withholding/against expectations. Von Dutch is already a bit lyrically snarky in that way.

2. She said this is a huge club/rave record, and this aesthetic is super y2k coded - obvZ lazy, but in your face enough to make you want to know more/be in on what’s going on.
