Another United flight with mechanical issues had to turn around due to leak

United Airlines has been dealing with a series of issues with its flights over the last couple of weeks

An investigation is underway after another United Airlines jet, bound for SFO, had to turn around midflight because of a mechanical issue.

Just 10 seconds after flight 830 from Sydney to San Francisco took the air, video by plane spotter New York Aviation got clear images of fluid spewing from the plane -- it looks like it was coming from the rear right landing gear.

The crew of the Boeing 777-300 jet continued over the ocean for a while before turning around. 

Video from a passenger shows the crew dumping fuel before landing.

The plane landed safely back at the airport in Sydney, with no injuries, but a lot of questions.

Okay but this isn't coincidence.. so WHY is this happening? They've downgraded to cheap parts? Are rushing the engineers who build them? Skipping important tests and safety checks to save time or money? All of the above?

Yeah, I believe a mixture of all of them, but more emphasis on the lack of test and safety regulations.

All of that is just NOT acceptable when a situation where it is extremely important to take every precaution. Literally people's lives are at risk. Insanity

All these flights having issues being linked to the west coast got me nervous, girl. I frequently use SFO.

Spirit doesn’t seem to have these stories and they aren’t Boeing planes and they’re cheaper tickets.

All of the above...It's Boeing cutting corners to make more money, pure and simple.

Trump brought in some executive orders during his time that cut FAA oversite and let established manufacturers "oversee" themselves a lot more in the interest of "cutting red tape" etc

That's disgusting tbh. Absolutely vile behaviour. Air travel can be one of the most dangerous things if anything goes wrong. We're assured all the time that planes are safe and thoroughly checked and told to not worry.. all of this would definitely make me a more nervous flyer
