Speaking to Variety about new Bess Kargman documentary, Diane Warren: Relentless, Warren said losing the 2016 Oscar for for her song Til It Happens to You (performed by Lady Gaga) to Sam Smith's James Bond track, Writing's On The Wall was hardest to lose.

She said: 'That was a tough loss that year. That’s the one that was excruciating. Out of all the nominations, that one really stung.'

+ It would be great to win the competitive Oscar, which has eluded me. But, if I had to choose between winning a competitive Oscar one time and never getting nominated again, I’d choose to get nominated again and never winning. I love to keep getting nominated. It’s awesome.

Til It Happens To You deserved to win that over Sam Smith’s Bond song, it’s message was so important at that time and lets not forget that performance. I guess I’m happy the way things happened and she won for Shallow, made that win an even bigger moment.

Maybe try writing a good song from a movie people actually like and have heard about? She likely could have won for "Because You Loved Me," "How Do I Live," "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" or "Til It Happens to You" but her recent noms feel like trolling. Truly unheard songs from unknown movies. I mean, "The Fire Inside" from the Cheetos movie? I don't think
