Sophie Ellis-Bextor sings Murder on the Dancefloor to honor Paris Attack victims

Ellis-Bextor spoke about the tragedy at the Bataclan, where 90 people were killed in coordinated terrorist attacks at a concert, during her tour stop.

“It didn’t feel right to me to just waltz into a song called ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ without noting and paying tribute to the history,” she said, according to SkyNews.

In fan-recorded footage of the performance, Ellis-Bextor continued, “All I want to say is that ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ is not a song with any evil in its heart."

She added: “The whole intention of that song, like this venue, is to bring joy and music onto the dancefloor. So in tribute to that spirit, and in tribute to everybody who has ever danced right here at the Bataclan, this is ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’.”

Didn't she even ask the crowd if they're fine with it? And tbh it's not like she has many other hits this big, people go to her concert and want to hear that song.

I saw her in Utrecht last week, was a really fun show. She has a few more songs that are quite known in Europe, not as big as MOTDF of course. She was very charismatic and sweet, but yeah most people came to hear that song lol
