MonsterofFame 1,778
Both lead singles have failed to chart well enough to be considered a hit. Dua Lipa still won't even give a timeframe for the album release. The label definitely is putting the album on hold.

Why waste marketing money in videos and stuff when both singles have come and go. Come on Dua! You got this.

I think she got complacent and sure no matter what she did it was gonna be hit and sadly it didn’t work. She had one change after the mega hit “dance tonight”… then wa wa Agreed. These songs are lacking hooks and the lyrics are so unsingable. There's nothing fun to sing about Training Season or get stuck in your head. The only memorable line of Houdini is "catch me or I go Houdini" but that's not anything I'm going to hear someone shout on the dance floor. Also as much as I love Tame Impala, Kevin's work isn't great for mainstream pop. His production sounds analog and flat, not crisp and bouncy that pop needs for a bop. 2

The lyrics are so cringe and appalling (intentionally), but I've had "These bitches can't suck like me / walk in I'm the sucking queen" on repeat in my head for 2 weeks and I want to go into a club and shout it out of my lungs 😂😂 Edited March 6 by MonsterofFame

But not a single. She needs a banger! Even Houdini was luke warm. Lazy videos. Lazy looks. Pedestrian. Girl you gotta work harder then that

If the gays love it, it’s a hit. Slut Pop Miami is iconique!! Period 2
thatfoxyfeeling 12,669
I remember when Houdini dropped I said the rollout was gonna be a mess releasing the lead single in November. Both singles sound like they belong on Future Nostalgia. Her management have been too cocky saying they'll make her the biggest pop star in the world. 6 1
AkariGaga 1,102
She can sing, she can dance but she lacks the star power and artistic vision. 12 1 1

DrKindnessKunt1999 5,699
Maybe she needs to rework some songs/details. It worked out for Ariana Grande after she released Focus and it didn’t do so well. 1
Starmie25 13,074
I think the main issue why these songs aren't fully taking off is because, they really do feel a bit manufactured and lacking character. 4
Ceres 3,200
I did a drag routine starting with Training Season into Houdini (basically her grammys performance) I think it took Training Season to flop for people to recognize Houdini as the better song. Maybe she can do a reverse uno like how we liked Dont Start Now but people LOVED Physical. ✧ ✧ ✧ 4
nkta 280
Why is everybody freaking out so much. She’s currently the 7th most listened to Artist in the world on Spotify. Houdini is pretty stable on charts. Yes, the 2nd single is not a hit, but Physical was not a hot too! She’s all about longevity and slow rollouts. The moment she announces a tour - it will be sold out, and she’ll do pretty well with it. Doesn’t matter that she won’t have #1 from this album (not she EVER did on Billboard). Her album will also barely sell (just how ALL pop albums barely sell now - from Miley to Tate). She will remain hugely successful on streaming, and will continue feeding her fans. Remember when Weeknd released Dawn FM - no hits, missed #1 on Albums chart - did it hurt him much? not at all. Yes, he’s much bigger than Dua. But she’ll too - stay relevant in her field

No tour is planned for 2024 so she needs to build momentum for 2025
