Bonkers 28,292
Is she just planning to out devastated Gaga? Brazil is cursed for American pop stars. They should all stay away. StrawberryBlond 14,196
It's a nice gesture, especially considering how much Brazil has been cancelled on by multiple pop acts over the last few years, but I'm a bit lost as to how this will work. How do 1 million people fit on a beach? How will they be able to see and hear properly? And the health implications could be huge, especially in such a hot country. Remember the Taylor Swift fan who died in that Brazilian stadium because of heat exhaustion (and this was in a much smaller crowd)? And we don't want another Astroworld on our hands. That event had over 50k people and 10 people died in a crowd crush with many more injured. So how do you control a 1 million strong crowd? ChicaSkas 22,328
I saw her last night she was incredibly good. We had our nosebleed tickets advanced 15 rows further by her team because a scout saw my friends outfit and hat and said compliments of the venue and we were Shocked Pikachu Face! A free concert at Copacabana's beach already happened a few year ago for Rolling Stones, more than 1 million were there and it went well. You can check there are many pictures. It's different from a stadium, a stadium is closed and private, people can navigate less easily. Next to this beach, there is more space and the air circulates better (+ beach air is healthier). So it's less risky 2

Copacabana can fit more than 4 million people, Rod Steward set the record for the largest concert attendance with 4.5 mil in 1994 (free New Year's Eve show). Madonna's show will happen during the autumn, when the temperatures are lower than they were at Taylor's show, which happened right in the middle of the biggest heat wave. Bronco 6,768
I know there's strong rumours of new material this summer. But I genuinely feel like Madonna's prepping to retire from performing and planning on going out on a high. She's been quite vocal about how physically difficult she's found the Celebration tour at times and I just can't envision Madonna ever reducing the "spectacle" element of her shows. 1

The Madame X tour was plagued by issues linked to her physical health because of her decades old knee issue. I absolutely love Madonna, I want her to be able to carry on 1000%. But I spent time in hospital last year with a bacterial menegitis infection, about 6 months before Madonna fell ill with what's assumed to have been sepsis or menegitis. Now Madonna at 65 is significantly fitter than my fat 28 yr old ass, but also had a worse infection by public accounts. A year on, I've only just got back to any form of physical normality having spent the last year unable to stand up/walk for more than 15 minutes without serious long term pain as a result. I have probably lifelong changes to my health moving forwards, especially neurologically. Because such illnesses are violent in their power on the body. I think it's inspirational that she got back on stage for a world tour less than 6 months after, **** knows how. I don't want it to happen, but I'm just saying I won't be surprised. And let's face it, a show on Copacabana to over a million people is one hell of an ending if it turns out to be one.
