Half the album's been released at this point and every track is about love/romance/relationships. Like at this point it's just nightcall 2.0. 2

Cameltoe Chariot 14,519
I really wanna know how Olly has the budget and label support required to be releasing this much content on a regular basis without anything ever sticking. He's been hustling for over a decade and he's more niche than Kim Petras... I don't get it.

Like I like all of the new tracks, but I wish he'd just be honest and say "yeah its a dance record about kissing boys" and stop dressing it up as something revolutionary when he's just redoing the Relax music video for every single lol 13 minutes ago, Cameltoe Chariot said: I really wanna know how Olly has the budget and label support required to be releasing this much content on a regular basis without anything ever sticking. He's friendly with major acts like Elton John (who heavily pushes so many indie acts), Pet Shop Boys & Kylie plus he has the It's A Sin link to RTD.

Yeah he definitely seems "well connected" I've liked Years and Years tracks and a few of his solo ones as well, and I completely agree with you that he has talent but the result is always so... empty. He's like TEMU Troye Sivan

He's like TEMU Troye Sivan I think it's like some weird UK art school/Brit school curse. Produces so many super talented performers who just seem to not be able to connect with people. Olly's an even weirder case because tracks like Shine & Eyes Shut show he can write music about love etc and it actually feel emotive and genuine. But he just doesnt? Maybe its just the way Olly talks about his music? Troye is like "here's an album about connecting with people that I wrote after a really good one night stand" and Olly is like "here's an album inspired by the code language of 20th century gay britain" and then its the same music.

This is exactly how I feel about Troye Sivan as of 2023-on Like he and Charli have pushed eachother to become the worst iterations of themselves (an insecure pick-me and her stereotypical mean GBF). Arguably a similar change happened with Sam Smith. In general, I'd like to see more diversity with how queer men are represented in pop music. I'm rooting for artists like Conan Gray to shake things up in that regard.
KevinWright 1,585
His recent songs just like ''Polari'', ''Cupid's Bow'' and now this is what I thought Troye Sivan will serve us after the single ''Rush''. And at the end we get a very vanilla and mediocre album

I don't think they've changed like you think. They at least put out good music. And tbh I don't mind gay guys in pop producing slutty club music, it may be a stereotype but its also something all of us have experienced and these days its radical to be open and honest about the sexual aspect of queer sexuality. Though my first out & proud gay pop act growing up was the Scissor Sisters so maybe I'm biased lol
