Traditionally, aside from the In Memoriam Tribute, performance slots are allocated to the songs nominated.

Though every once in a while songs from past years, or tributes will make their way into the show. If that were to happen, A Colour Purple and The Little Mermaid would be nice tributes, but the Oscars are already way too long, the less, the better.

That’s what I meant. This song didn’t deserve to be nominated first and foremost. The performance slot/nomination could’ve gone to far better songs

I wasnt a huge fan of the movie or soundtrack (its all a bit too 'on the nose' to resonate with me) But that's a pretty huge deal for him, from being in the Mickey Mouse club with the gals he's never had that 'vocal moment' So this is probably a dream of his, I hope he does well
