KillerMonster 2,361
The wig from Enigma is iconic and looks beautiful on Gaga. I spent 400$ to have it recreated. I don’t get the hate for that wig. This, the only album that really reflects her unique artistry and what she has to offer as a recording artist is BTW, which is why it’s my favorite despite TF / TFM being technically perfect pop albums. ARTPOP is not as experimental as it should’ve been, and a lot of the tracks could been put out by any big pop artists in 2012 or 2013. Joanne is also a bit flat, since she was too focused on creating that hybrid album of “Gaga” and “Stefani” when it would’ve been better to stick to one (personally I route for it having been more Stefani and dive bar like to contrast from her other pop albums). Then Chromatica was just a slap in the face lol, probably the least GAGA sounding album she’s put out since TF. But that was her plan, to make a safe album for the GP to stream. Hence why my holy trinity of Gaga albums, which is another unpopular opinion, are BTW, CTC, and A Star Is Born. I agree with this. But I think Joanne would have been a top tier album (it is actually in my top 3, but it would probably be my favorite) is she didn't have the songs that still had some nods to her roots; Dancing In Circles, AYO and John Wayne (less so) come to mind. Some tweaking to the lyrics for Come to Mama also. The work tape for Angel Down should have been the album version also.

How does she not suit stripped down or minimal type productions? Her highest streamed songs are Shallow and Always Remember Us This Way for a reason. In what world is streaming numbers a determinant of quality? Lmao im saying that bc of her strong voice, having beats and instrumentals that match that give her her signature sound. Those songs are her highest streamed bc they premiered in the streaming era and are super super commercial songs lol

compassionhills 57
ARTPOP as an album is not ahead of its time or experimental, minus a few of the tracks. despite being a great album, its just EDM music that is slightly more over the top than some of the other EDM songs that were on the radio at the time.
