There were quite a few versions that never got off the ground.  They wanted to make it in the 90s with Whitney as the lead.  Then Whitney wanted to produce a version with Aaliyah in the lead.  I think there were versions before Bradley even became involved where Beyonce was the top pick in the early 2000s.

is anyone else starting to get annoyed that he’s saying all this now?? we all know this is how casting works, but it feels so weird to say all this after he insisted for years up until recently that he only ever thought of gaga. i saw a tweet that was like “wow he’s really telling us about the other 98 people in the room” 

it feels like he’s saying anything that’ll make headlines right before voting starts tomorrow (even though he’s not winning…about to be a 12 time oscar loser)

Like we already knew this was originally crafted with Beyoncé in mind but last week he mentioned Adele, now he's raving about Bey. I don't think Gaga would care at all but it might sound a little weird considering how Gaga built the entire ASIB era around the "100 people" quote

i also wonder how gaga must feel reading all these quotes. and right after he used her to prop up his movie lol. i still laugh at the pics of her standing between him and carey, and videos show bradley was the one who wanted gaga in so many of the pics
