Dua Lipa and Beyoncé are competing for #1 on the UK Singles Chart

It's all change in the race for this week's Official Number 1 single, as Beyoncé edges ahead of Dua Lipa in today's update (February 19).

While Dua previously led the charge by over 3,000 units with her brand-new release Training Season, Beyoncé's TEXAS HOLD 'EM now bolts ahead and tracks for Number 1.

Fewer than 1500 UK chart units currently separate Dua's Houdini follow-up from Bey's first taste of her upcoming RENAISSANCE Act II album, set for release on March 29.

It's crazy just how much of a chart resurgence Beyoncé has had due to Renaissance. She is literally returning to her pre-4 chart abilities and I'm honestly here for it.

Beyonce is blocking 100%.

Dua's song is flopping (sadly). Though she will debut somewhere in the top 5 and maybe top 3 so it's not bad. It's just sad she's going to go another era without a #1 in the US or UK....Dua's 4 UK #1s are from her debut and from non album songs. Future Nostalgia had zero UK #1s and US #1s and it looks like DL3 will be the same

I wish it goes to Dua.. No shade to Bey, just rooting for the underdog. I also think Training Season is more replayable

Maybe radio doesn't have much impact anymore. I listen to capital FM quite frequently at work and in the car and Ivy only heard Dua once, Beyonce none. I guess it's all down to fandoms and whatnot.

The fact Future Nostalgia never had a #1 single in the UK is really shocking considering that it has become one of the biggest albums of the 2020s.

Right?! I was shocked when I was looking at her UK stats. Apparently Don't Start Now was close! It peaked at #2.

It goes to show her rollouts aren't built around singles though and really maximize on albums. I feel like it's a better strategy in that it builds a fanbase
