Helxig 45,648
Why the **** would you do this??? I just don't get it. Even if you have hundreds of millions it's just a flagrant waste of money. Do people lose their consciences when they become rich? I get that hopping in a plane with lots of strangers at a regular airport can be a hassle and time consuming but the guilt would eat me alive. Just fly first class I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Just fly first class Well part of it yes is disregard for the harm it can cause (granted flight makes up a very tiny amount of air pollution all things considered). But when I was flying to Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago I did just out of curiosity from this question to flight attendant about celebrities flying commercial. And their response was that in their experience, a lot of airports and airlines discourage celebrities from flying commercially due to the disruption it tends to cause. They're not going to outright deny someone a flight (in most cases) but tend to make a big deal of security and crowd control and the commotion that comes with it. Some celebrities still choose to, but are not always made to feel welcome or comfortable when they do. I can understand why with that being the case, as well as just general safety concerns, a lot of celebrities don't tend to favor commercial flight. Especially in context of like musicians on tour because then it becomes a keeping to a schedule thing that you can never really be confident in on commercial flight. For the safety of passengers, staff, the celebrities themselves. But we have to find a better option. This is absolutely nuts. There should be an eco tax for every private flight which goes directly into funding for organisations that work to solve these exact problems. That is SO sad and shocking. People trully don't care about what's going on. It's so true. I taught myself a couple years ago to remove the guilt of throwing away packaging or buying items in cans or taking food from he restaurant home in polystyrene containers etc. because it's not my fault this is the world we live in and have to exist within. And there's no point in me ruining my quality of life when my contribution to climate destruction is a tiny speck compared to the Mt Everest of carbon emissions that come from large companies and things like private jets. I'm mindful of things like wasting power or water, I try to reuse everything I can, I religiously recycle and compost, I'm doing all that I can and that should be expected to do. It helps to remember that it was the massive fossil fuel company BP that popularised the concept of a household carbon footprint, to offload the blame for climate change on the individuals and distract from themselves. Let that also sink in shifting the blame and guilt to the individuals is something big companies do on purpose I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. But we don't live in that kind of world It wouldn't be unthinkable to provide "private" group flights (or even train rides) for celebrities when events like this occur. Put 25 celebrities in one plane to LA instead of them each bringing their own jet. That would take 525 flights down to about 20. I'm sure the NFL (or whatever fancy event) could accommodate those services. The biggest thing standing in the way is that it would be more inconvenient for the celebrities in question, and they'll happily pay up to avoid it. Because their own problems are more important. You know what, I was literally thinking about this in the shower and came back here to say "wait why don't they carpool in their jets." Exactly like you said, all the LA celebs (which is a lot of them) get dropped in one place and picked up in cars. There should be rules/laws around this to prevent them being lazy and throwing money around at the determinant of our planet. A balance between safety and eco conscious Also just imagine the hodge-podge mix of celebs on the LA flight all in one plane together the stories the cabin crew could tell afterwards I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Killa 18,889
If you can’t take the comercial flight which is within reason. There’s always the car. Maaany people do 15 h and more hour rides. Flying a jet should be a complete last resource. If the USA had a functional interstate high speed railway.
