Haven't heard such a flat chorus in a long time, not feeling this era at all so far

I've been getting messages from my deep waters

Love the song, didn't enjoy the video.
I have a feeling her album is going to be called Vertigo and we all know Gaga stans love this word :reductive:

Song is catchy, and I like direction she picked for production. But neither the songs are smash hit material unlike Future Nostalgia, nor she was experimental enough to go full-in with production.

Live instruments are Dua's ally. This overcleaned track could have been a timeless if it wasnt for the overmastered production.

I hope this debuts at least top 5 on hot 100

I like it!

It sounds very 2006 (in a good way) and it kinda reminds me of Padam Padam in a way?

I think the video is slightly uninteresting because she's just sitting down throughout. I was expecting the final chorus to have some kind of visual switch but it still stays the same.

I like Dua, but Houdini and Training Season were kind of boring to me… every single of Future Nostalgia was a hit

I like them, but something’s missing

Not to be pedantic, but when you say the counts are off, that implies that the rhythm is wrong or something is musically offbeat (which I don’t think is the case). Are you saying there are just sections that feel a bit long and don’t fit into a normal pop formula?

Funnily enough I had this conversation with my man as soon as I posted (he can read music). So you’re right! It feels like there are an uneven number of sections in certain parts of the song or an unecessarily long amount of sections in other parts. But on top of that, there are also a million different instruments using different rhythms too so I think that’s also throwing me off.

Right?? She has some good people working on these tracks, and none of their solo work is this overproduced? Another issues I have with this song is how clean and empty the percussions instruments are?

4th Time Around

I was defending this song to the hilt a few days ago but I have already stopped playing it:rip:

Nothing obviously wrong with it but it really gets tedious after a flew listens.

Hey, I'm king of the world, you ought to hear my song, you come on measure me, I'm twenty inches long
