Why do all her new songs feel like they are missing a climax or something idk how to explain it

What would you do differently on HOUDINI? The end of the song has a climax. TURNING SEASON is missing that maybe, but it does fine without it.

Do you guys prefer Training Season or Houdini so far?

Training Season is much better imo

I was waiting for a truly bop.

But this is a kinda boring and it sounds unfinished, something is missing.

The video is a choice.

To me Houdini feels like the beginning of a 6-7 minuts long song. Kinda like A&W or Band on the run. I was hoping for a shift, an explosion. Illusions, you know. 《You think we're going there, but you're wrong》kind of situation.

Houdini ate this song up :icant:

Plus what a boring MV. Where did the single cover look come from? That look alone ate up this entire video :icant:

Is it me or are the counts off throughout the entire song?? Or am I just used to gay pop counts? I was getting blown away by the extended version and there just felt like random extensions throughout it? Like the intro didn’t need to be 45 seconds and there didn’t need to be a random break down in the middle of the song. Not to mention the random count right before the final beat drops. I’m just thrown off, which sucks, because the song is actually catchy

Religion is a product to sell.

Obsessed with the video, I love it. It's reality! and better than Houdini by a lot (video).

Musically, on par imo. Houdini gives more lead vibes/it's more interesting, but this is catchier.

Houdini is WAY better. This is cute but just fine. And the video sucks. I’m bummed Dua is having these stumbles; both songs and Argyle all at once underwhelming is not great.

i still LOVE Houdini and it’s video tho.

Video is boring. Song is decent at best. I for sure prefer Houdini. Either way, can’t say I’m too impressed so far with the era and feel like I’m losing interest with Dua. Song doesn’t sound like something new that I was expecting. Her music is somehow all starting to blend together (for me at least). Wishing her luck on the single, though.

you are ABSOLUTELY right. The song isnt timed right. there are counts that are shorter or longer that hsould be repeated perfectly on the second vers or chorus but they are slightly off which gives it a live structure vibe but the production and vocals are polished AF so it clashes and creates a dissonance in my brain lol

Hmm maybe I'm just overthinking this and expecting something huge from Dua but Houdini and Training Season are honestly good pop songs and that's it. Can't wait to listen to the whole album from start to finish, sometimes it flows better that way. I don't need that Extended version yet btw, the standard song already feels like it goes too long. :billie:

That hot bald guy with the lips at :30 seconds and then the other bald daddy with the beard at 2:55 though. :flutter:
