I mean, Gaga's 'version' of rock or songs with rock elements (PI, HMH, BTW album ...) we've heard over the years (+ her covers like King of Pain) are definitely something she could make a whole album of and I'd be here for it.

don't doubt it. But having  Jack White on a track doesn't make it rock. It's a stretch, like huge huge stretch.

No, it’s not lmao. The song is heavily stylistically rooted in rock/blues/soul.

I kind of don’t want a pop rock album from these examples:poot:

I was hoping she was inspired from what already inspires her. David Bowie, Queen, Metallica… Basically songs she already made like Electric Chapel, Perfect Illusion, MANiCURE (itunes fest version :firega:), The Fame (demo version) and Diamond Heart.

Hoping it’s more experimental and not only instruments. Synths can still capture the energy of rock, like born this way captured metal.

Probably my top 3 pop rock acts are PMMP, Irina and Pariisin Kevät:heart:

Imagine if Gaga had a song on LG7 where she sings in both Finnish and English, similar to the way she sings in both Spanish and English in Americano. :giveup::giveup:

you can lmao but go listen to a Jack White solo song and this and it's clear as the day they are two complete different entities that do share some elements. I find the primary genre to be rnb or if you want soul music. So i stand by my classification. It's also about the structure, the style of the vocals. It would have to be alternative rock and i'd call it with hip hop/rnb elements and style of singing in some parts and way of constructing. So the main force is still, in my opinion Rnb.

Already know what Jack White (and the Led Zeppelin song she samples here) sound like, thanks. Agree to disagree on the song. I think it’s possible for multiple things to be true at once genre-wise.

I feel like all of these are actual proper rock songs rather than pop songs with Rock influence.

Would Gaga really take that route and risk having very low commercial appeal?

She did 2 jazz album, 1 soundtrack album and one full americana... She would totally and at the moment it must be said that folk, country and alt music are more attractive than music based on the latest trends.

I sincerely hope that she will surprise us again by doing something funk, rock like some have recently theorized. The fact that she wore t-shirt with some big rock, metal, punk bands means that she wants to do an album like "Joanne". People who are going to appreciate joker 2 for Gaga's covers of Jazz standards will want to hear "mature" music such as Rock or Funk...

But let's not exclude the fact that she is about to work with some famous techno artists so it could totally be a an album that experiments with lots of different sounds.

I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/

WOW I did not expect to see Finnish classics in here! I must say prefer Veden varaan-era PMMP though.
