I think it’s kind of obvious: he’s trying to pin him invading Ukraine on Biden, which he believes will help Trump. By saying Biden is “predictable,” he’s playing into the idea that he would’ve been more afraid of Trump’s reaction to his invasion of Ukraine (perhaps leading him to decide against it), which, to some, makes Trump look strong and makes Biden look weak. However, he doesn't publicize this because he knows it would only hinder Trump's campaign. Biden's supporters want to brand Trump as Putin's lapdog and a traitor to the country. Their plans get mixed up when Putin praises Biden instead. While it is true that Trump is indeed unpredictable, Putin has no means to restrain him.
