Bronco 5,384
I find it hilarious people are talking about this yet how many threads on the night of the Grammys were there hoping for a surprise Gaga appearance/performance to launch a new era? We spent the past 4 years saying the Grammys were irrelevant and mistreated minorities (they still do tbh) and now because Taylor Swift announced at the Grammys we've suddenly decided the Grammys are a holy moment to be respected? Where was this energy about people stealing the spotlight when Rihanna took over the headlines with her pregnancy reveal at last year's superbowl? Or Beyoncé dominating the post-VMA coverage with hers? Or Kacey Musgraves announcing her album during this year's Grammys? Or when Dre & Eminem performed a brand new single (which was Dre's major comeback) at the 2011 Grammys? If we really want to talk about the Grammys and spotlights - where's the fairness in most award recipients not even getting their 10 seconds televised? Like when did rich people awarding rich people for sending them gifts become something to care so deeply about?

In all fairness, she is very successful. Deeply mid, yes, but also very successful!
Emvee 7,571
I’m shocked how many people just want to sweep under the rug the OBJECTIVE fact that she willfully screwed Olivia Rodrigo over. And why? Because Taylor Swift feels threatened by other female artists getting in her lane.

Spartacus 4,485
It's always so shocking to find someone who doesn't reside in Taylor's colon. -𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐌𝐀™ 1

I mean mid to me is Ava max or Bebe Rexha, you can't deny her skill as a performer/dancer and vocalist, not to mention her 25+ years in the industry, which automatically put her well above "mid" imo, even if you dislike her music or whatever you can't deny her talent, unless you haven't watched one of her shows or performances. Eh, I think the performance/dance/vocal is where she struggles the most. I will give her that she’s a good pop songwriter and shrewd business woman, but by no means a strong singer/dancer/performer. I think she’s mid relative to the level of acclaim + success she has (ie she’s deeply overrated) Edited February 14 by Ladle Ghoulash

It's not much different than you would find at a local open mic night. I've never said she isn't talented. She definitely is. But people act like she's the next Bob Dylan or sum and it's getting old. She's peak basic white girl. https://discord.gg/hausofdelulu (Home of the Babble On! with Bling Podcast)

djBuffoon 11,968
I mean, that's her take and she's entitled to it, even if a large part of her rant is basic projection. Although, I've gotta say that including "she shouldn't have won the award, that belonged to SZA, etc." in her reasoning is just as narcissistic as what she accuses Taylor of. The Grammys are voted on by committee, who each bring their own taste, expertise, and subjectivity to it. Who are you to say who does and doesn't deserve the award? And to be clear, I'm nowhere near being a Swifty.
