because Gaga didn’t have preorders up on her website the minute she announced BTW. The album wasn’t even done and we didn’t get the single for another 5 months.

I think she's getting overexposed... Many friends that are (or maybe were now) swifties just doesn't care about her right now. I never imagined them not caring about a new release lol 

It's just too much... I think she should've taken a break after her tour and release maybe next year

Not even remotely close to the same thing.

The VMAs are fan-voted awards - unlike the Grammys which are decided by the Academy of peers. The VMAs are also heavily attended by fans, especially fans of the specific artists that are up for awards that year. As an artist at the VMAs you can be certain you will have several hundreds of your own fans in person at that event, cheering you on in real time. When Gaga made that announcement, it was to thank the fans who had directly voted for her and literally given her that award, and to speak directly to the hundreds of fans who were there, in person. The VMAs are a fan-driven award show, with heavy fan involvement and spectatorship.

The Grammys is a closed ceremony only open by invite to industry professionals. There were no fans in the room when Taylor made that announcement, and the award was given to her by the industry (insert your conspiracy theories here). Who was she even talking to? You might argue she was talking to the fans watching on TV, but then the more appropriate thing would just be to directly address on them on her own social media and not make the Grammy's all about her.
