2014-2017 collectively. Her versatility in 2014 and 2015 was unmatched, in 2016 and 2017 her technique and ability was unmatched sans Ariana and Beyoncé.

Like, right before she started putting on that weird, heavy "jazz" accent on everything.

lush life live on CBS was her vocal peak.

also sound of music tribute.

also ill never love again is her hardest vocal, whitney houston level type vocals. i still hold out hope she will sing it live one day. her head voice/falsetto in that song is probably the most insane falsetto notes ive ever heard

Now, she seems to be able to project her voice more easily then before

I can't answer this properly without bias getting in the way. I think her control was at it's peak around C2C-ASIB. But my personal favourite vocals from her are all BTW-ARTPOP era

No denying her peak is the ASIB era.

But I miss the pre-Jazz voice days. I personally prefer the softer voice she had

As someone who studied voice, can comfortably say she’s not shouting, but the tone is a bit more muted that I’d like. She does use a decent amount of distortion on this as well

Which makes it sound like shouting lmao like clearly it sounds healthy and sustainable but I think it’s the *effect. Personally I’d wish she stop trying to punch her chest voice so high bc it almost always sounds like this and I think the attempt is to sound like old rockers but I think it winds up sounding imitated a bit

Yall really need to see the tour shows for C2C that were not professionally recorded. It should be separate from Image Cleanup. C2C is an overrated era in terms of vocals in my opinions. She had a TON of cracks and off key notes. Like a buttload. I think her peak is going to be next. Seriously, the most recent jazz shows were incredible. She was serving that New York New York vocals effortlessly during a TOUR. Her Vegas jazz show is demanding as **** and she still did that (again, ONLY the most recent shows). I think we are about to see her real peak.

Edit: To go off this, the Joker leaks sounded insanely perfect

I think the issue is that it’s not just technicality but artistry of it and I think a lot of folks don’t like her newer jazz voice as much so “peak” wouldn’t be here or next for that reason

I feel like anything during the fame era she killed it. Her voice was just so strong, and sounded like it had so much behind it. Anytime she performed just dance poker face, LoveGame or paparazzi ,It was just pure vocal gold.
