Taylor Swift could decide next U.S President

Taylor Swift could heavily influence the way that Americans vote in the presidential election - with a fifth of voters saying they're 'likely' to back a candidate she endorses.

In a poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, 18 percent of voters say they're 'more likely' or 'significantly more likely' to vote for a candidate endorsed by Taylor Swift.

There's probably no way for her to endorse a candidate without becoming a target for the insane in one way or another. If she supports Biden publicly, she'll be smeared by conservatives and liberals alike since it's still popular to hate on her. But saying nothing also has its own implications, and after speaking out against Trump, it will be expected.

I do imagine most loyal Taylor followers are on the progressive side and would not stand for more Republican destructiveness disguised as a return to old values.

It's weird to hope for this kind of thing from a celebrity but I hope she chooses to make a difference in the right direction.

I feel like it's more people with confirmation bias than them just trusting her in choosing. They think she aligns with their own belief so she'll vote for who they want in the first place.

Separately take the right to vote from all those people if they're just gonna vote for whoever a pop star is voting for.

She already endorsed Biden in 2020. This would be nothing new for her.

I get this mindset, but Taylor Swift isn’t going to magically shift 100M+ votes to a third party candidate :air:

It depends on how many electors of the Electoral College are Taylor Swift fans in swing states.

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

"Could Heavily Influence" is different from deciding. And we already know who she indorses even if she doesnt say it.

Considering the polls show a margin of low single-digits between the two candidates, 18% is definitely huge. Although I doubt she'll make an endorsement or campaign for Biden.

She's already endorsed Biden before.

Hope she does. I can imagine her tension if a large portion of Gen Z is very "I will never vote for genocide Joe"
