I mean, it’s not illegal for someone convicted of defamation to run for president lol. Obviously what he did and said is disgraceful, but what would get him out of the way here would be self-awareness/shame (leading him to bow out of the race), of which he has none. 
 

Keep in mind that US presidents have resigned for less than this (Bill Clinton, for example), but that was, again, largely a decorum/shame based decision.

This means that this is what the jury has ruled and the judge will make the final decision about the amount, I think.

its crazy cuz if this happened to a liberal, say obama or someone else - the left would drop him in an instant. trumps done countless things and has 94 federal charges against him and has 25+ women claiming he assaulted them...... and still people support him, in fact it makes them warp reality and claim were all out to get him, its truly pathetic and despicable.

He will, they’ll take his assets if they need to. But he told another court he had 400M in cash on hand, so he’s going to end up paying. It will take a minute because he has the right to the appeals process but it will happen.

Happy for Ms. Carroll. He showed his ass every day he decided to make an assistance during the trial so I'm glad they didn't lowball the amount. 

We can NOT let this goon become the most powerful man in the country again. If y'all think things are bad now, imagine what is going to be like when he decides he's not leaving office again. He already had a trial run to work out the kinks.

I don't recall Clinton resigning. He was acquitted from his impeachment and served out his second term, and then we got W after.
