I think it was just going to be a medley of existing works, but honestly the execution likely would’ve been more polished. They had been working on it for some time and then changed to the Bowie tribute at the very last minute. So my thought was always that the projection mapping specifically would’ve been much better had she used the original concept, probably going through her old looks for a bit before moving on to more polished inclusions of the interactive backdrops and piano.

I'm grateful we've all moved on from that performance 'cause what a mess that was. I get that she changed concepts but the moving piano and mic stand were ugly as hell

I remember there was some person from Haus that answered on Twitter after the performance it was planned to be a medley of Gaga’s biggest hits with the same visuals that they used but they changed the music to Bowie’s tribute. 
They indicated some of the concept with the Intel video which was released before Grammys
