I think that Houdini is interesting in terms of production but it sounded flat to me and felt recycled, if that makes sense. And the title itself is actually not that common to world public

"Yes, and?" follows the house trend, which isnt dead yet imo. And the drama around Ari, plus the cool concept music video, and the interesting title...makes it more appealling. Ari is the "bigger" artist so thats another factor..

So yes and? wins for me

It's Houdini for me. I think it's catchier, but I'll admit that I was expecting a lot more with the people that were involved in it. But still, I enjoy it.

Yes, and? is just . . . boring. I really tried to get into it but it's so flat and uninteresting to me :toofunny:

That being said, I dont think either one lived up to the hype.

I think most people are tired of the 80s funk retro sound. Ariana is picking up right where Gaga and Beyonce left off.

I think it was already too much when Gaga and Bey did it :ladyhaha: I just can’t stand retro music anymore, create something NEW

Ari’s song sounds nothing like Chromatica though (other than Bab)

Houdini has way more bite and meat to it. It made more bold choices and is more interesting. yes, and is just a song to play in a mall.

I prefer Yes and ? It sound more fresh than Houdini... I mean Dua used the same recipe for Dance The Night, Houdini and Future Nostalgia... Not bad but meh

I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/

Yes, And has so much more personality and edge. I love how it addresses the tabloids. I love the classic Ariana don’t-f-with-me vibe. The line about riding a d**k? Yeah, that could only be pulled off by Ari. A larger message about loving yourself? Immediate gay anthem.

Houdini on the other hand is SO generic. It’s about coming and going, and disappearing from men? It could literally be sung by any popstar. TBH it sounds like Katy Perry lyrics.

How are y'all Gaga stans though...her entire career since Just Dance is rooted in retro music? The Grace Jones couture and late 70's/early 80s electropop were not for nothing...
