Last night, during the mixing session of this version, I had a realization. When you mentioned that the vocals were "out of time," I now understand that you were referring to their being early. It appears there is a definitive version of this song in a realm that I am seemingly not privy to. Allow me to clarify the term "out of time" — it denotes a deviation from the established timing within a measure, distinct from an early entrance as per your interpretation. In this case, the vocals were precisely on the 32nd measure and 3rd beat instead of conforming to the 33rd measure. The tempo had been adjusted accordingly to accommodate four beats per measure. Although in the new revisions, I have adjusted it to fit your very suspicious tailored ears.

Had you indicated that the vocals were entering too early during the chorus, I might have concurred. It's crucial to differentiate between "out of time" and a matter of personal opinion. "Out of time" is a musical reference that pertains to the intrinsic timing within a recording, vocal, or instrument, rather than an assessment based on subjective viewpoints. Is this clarification clear? Cool. Next time tango tango with someone else, I was so confused considering they were in time, hence. why I was so frustrated with what seemed to be a pile on someone just trying to share art. Pathetic guys. I have ASD, I take things very literal, thats why I didn't catch it before

I logged in after months just to reply to this...

The second verse's vocals after the first chorus are misplaced. They are out of tempo, it's something that happens very often when you have little experience in mixing, and it's okay! We were not born knowing how to walk

Yeah, what everyone was largely referring to was the rhythmic phrasing of the vocal line relative to the beat (which, due to differences in pacing/tempo in the demo, is a difficult issue to fix in an edit). That being said, the verses in this version are still not a proper reflection of how Gaga phrases the rhythm of the vocal line in the first verse. Not saying this to be antagonistic and I appreciate where you’re coming from, but I think if you were to place the vocal from the first verse of the final over the instrumental of the second verse for reference, you’d see what I mean.

Hey, it sounds much better! Definitely getting a lot closer. I think you may be mistaking peoples feedback as personal criticism, which it is not. There’s nothing wrong with getting feedback, this is a discussion forum, especially as someone diving in to audio editing and music production, right? We’re excited to hear this too, We just went to help you learn and grow as an artist. 😁

The vocals come in just a split second late on “I didn’t ask for the daylight”.

“Cuz I was born for the night and it changed my life, I knew the hurt wouldn’t be small” is almost perfect!

“You said you’d love me forever but you don’t call” comes in a tiny bit early.

Maybe those lines need to be split so you can just adjust them slightly if you haven’t already?

I hope that helps! Again, you’re doing a great job, it’s not easy! Can’t wait to hear it once you’ve got it down perfect!

I’ve listened to all three versions and the vocals are still out of tempo :ohno: I hope you don’t take that as a personal attack at all. If it helps, I would upload the second verse vocals to a website like tunebat analyzer to get the bpm and literally just use a free app like Audacity to adjust the tempo’s to eachother. I hope that helps :holdmyhand:

Each line of the second verse has to be individually adjusted to the beat and the tempo of those lines also as the demo has a different BPM. It is basically an easy fix with Audacity if one has separate tracks for instrumental and vocals.

I’m afraid the issue here is that not everybody has the same musical ear to tell right from wrong unfortunately.
