Arguably two of the most iconic eras within the past decade. Which would you say was more iconic? I'm not necessarily talking just about sales/numbers, but overall impact and memorability within pop culture.

Do prefer thank u but Miley came out with some literal bangers, tough one but I’d say Grande edges this one, far better album overall

Is this sarcasm? Ariana obviously. Bangerz was Miley's downfall...

Imo Bangerz, the tongue, the Wrecking Ball and We Can't Stop videos, her VMA performance, the short hair... All I can remember as iconic from tun is the tun video, and it was not even her being iconic, it was the mean girls and kris jenner cameo

Bangerz because Miley was literally inescapable. You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing or seeing her. It was also a literal Cultural Reset!

TUN was huge though but Bangerz was bigger.

Bangerz was extremely shocking bc it was Hannah Montanna but i think thank u next had more long term impact/remembrance

also all the TUN singles still get played compared to Miley's :air:

holy scheisse

Bangerz as an album is not good at all imo lol wrecking ball is the only decent song

thank u next is a solid album on the other hand with massively successful streams 🤔 and weren’t her 3 singles numbers 1 2 and 3 at the same time or something? which is crazy

in terms of pop culture impact though, bangerz wins i think (more so notoriously though). Miley on the wrecking ball, the short blonde hair, the robin thicke performance controversy, etc everyone loveddd the Disney star gone wild narrative

The music from Thank U Next was more commercially successful and boosted Ariana’s career to the next level. So maybe TUN

However more eyes were on Miley during Bangerz because it was so shocking and she killed the VMAs for good. :billie:

Bangerz was farrr more iconic, but in terms of success it's thank u, next by far as well. Different types of eras.

and with quality I think they're at similar levels. Both very iconic to that artist, very their vibe, their energy of the time.

Bangerz got more media attention and was more controversial, but thank u, next was truly a mammoth. Ariana still got a hefty amount of media attention around/before thank u, next too, between her relationship with Pete and Mac’s passing
