I think you're reading too hard into what I'm saying. I didn't justify the trend. Besides, you're the only one here suggesting to read the letter :ally:

The trend you mentioned was driven by a dumbed down phrase for clicks. The context and nuance of the conversation was the Young American realization that he was a monstrous human capable of producing a fourth of a point within 8 pages of filth and not just the big bad cartoon monster attacking Lady Liberty™️.

To get ️back on topic️ the trend is stupid, but not indicative of a red shift that this largely useless poll is saying is happening.

I mean as long as we can both agree it's indefensible for those people to promote it and say Bin Laden was right, we can move on from the topic.

But yes I agree that instance alone is not enough to explain the shift, but let's hope these polls are wrong anyway. We'll see.

And you think Republicans wouldn’t go even further against Palestine? Trump has literally said in the past weeks that he would re-instate his Muslim ban. I swear I can’t with any of y’alls logic. This sort of apathy and lack of critical thinking skills is what leads to presidents like Trump and the new wack-a-doodle in Argentina getting elected…

Trump literally moved the US/Israeli embassy to Jerusalem which is pretty much one step removed from saying the US doesn't recognize Palestine as existing at all :laughga:

Nobody who's serious about that issue is defecting to any Republican.

Besides, the messaging out of the Biden administration is changing almost daily.

White House officials have now agreed that Israeli extremism is "pouring gasoline on the fire" and instigating reactions to justify violence.

Biden sent his senior advisor to Lebanon to try and calm tensions between Hezbollah and Israel and he came back saying "nah, Israel is the one escalating here".

Biden's defense secretary called his Israeli counterpart and told him to chill with the conflict on the Lebanese border because the US isn't interested in backing Israel up if war breaks out with Lebanon, Hezbollah, and/or Syria or any other groups or countries they might piss off.

Biden has said the US will personally sanction any and all Israeli settlers in the West Bank that commit violent crimes against Palestinians because after the Oct 7th attack, Israeli settlers started attacking and killing Palestinians in the West Bank but Israel did nothing about it.

The Biden administration is also spearheading the call for a ceasefire and says that Israel has a responsibility to protect Gazan citizens. Israel's current assault is tantamount to crimes against humanity.

And lastly, Biden personally warned Netanyahu against occupying Gaza after this current spat is finished and Hamas is no longer in power. This is amid other warnings, "support is eroding", and direct personal condemnations about blocking fuel and supplies.

Biden's response as a whole leaves A LOT to be desired but it's leagues better than any Republican would offer and it's improving with every update.

Democrats as a whole mostly have either middling opinions ("Israel has a right to defend itself but this ain't it") or they've directly and openly condemned Israel.

Just like the public opinion has swayed heavily against Israel, the US government's take on the situation is souring on the occupational state and favoring the innocent people in both countries, whether they were/are killed by the terrorists created because of Israel's actions or the people directly killed by Israel itself in their manic and genocidal carpet bombing and resource blocking.

Tl;dr - If you're defecting to a Republican because you support Palestine, you're an idiot.

I am extremely sceptical about the reliability of polls like this, how often are they wrong? That being said, there is definitely a big pushback against the perceived excesses of the left, young Americans do not support Bidens foreign policy and military aid to embattled countries and he generally is thought of as a weak and incompetent leader who inspires no confidence. The Israel/Palestine situation has exposed some pretty vile antisemitism on the part of leftists. Personally, I cant stand either party and I think the whole rotten system needs reform but I will still be voting for Biden because he is the lesser of two evils.

Has it exposed that on the left or are they just anti-Zionist? Lmao. It’s said often that it’s anti-Semitism but that’s just said in such bad faith

Spearheading the call for a ceasefire is a bit of a stretch when it was grassroots pressure that got him there in the first place
