She absolutely ate. Like I’m really impressed, what a comeback. The production is crisp!

Houdini and Perfect Illusion, two iconic bops from the genius that is Kevin Parker. :saladga:

I'm not even a huge Due fan, and that absolutely ATE DOWN. :messga:

The video? Gorgeous. And the breakdown at the end and the Kanye-esque synths vocoder?! Absolutely made for a gay club.

I really like it and the video is great too. I think the singles are only going to get better from here. Excited for the album

It's okay.. it's not bad at all, just not exciting.

Probably a bit of a grower. I love the instrumental

Main pop girl energy as always. I was afraid that she might still be stuck on the FN sounds but this song feels like she took what the sonic essence of FN meant to her artistry and turned it UP with this crunchy, tame impala inspired, more psych sound. I am obsessed and I have absolutely no choice but to stan. When that bridge HITS with that reverb INJECTED "me"s repeating in the back... Would've singlehandedly ended feudalism in middle ages Europe.

All we need is love

Parts of the song are amazing, others are a tad bit boring, but good song overall. However, it doesn’t scream LEAD SINGLE at all, seems more of a deep cut. And the video was on the boring side as well, but it wasn’t terrible.

all in all, song is a 7.5/10, video is a 5/10

Anyone complaining about a lack of "things going on" in the video is clearly missing the point. It is meant to be stripped back and full of attitude as far as a pop banger goes, stripped back is in style right now and a refreshing change from usual pop tropes, the video's appearance is about as far from Future Nostalgia as the moon and that is by design. The only thing that matters in the video is Dua herself, her confidence and how gorgeous she looks. I don't think a single like this really called for the usual  high production music video we expect from a main pop girl, if anything it just makes me more excited for the direction this era is going to take.

I feel like the volume of "not enough going on" complaints signifies that it's a music video issue. Dua's videos have always lacked concept, emotion, and motion. Her stripped back beauty and the song ALWAYS take center stage in her music videos and at this point it feels more like a crutch than anything. There's really no excuse for it either considering she's a Warner favorite and the amount of streams/sales she gets. Break My Heart and Love Again almost had concepts but also were half baked. All of her videos lack significant styling and really the only times she's changed looks is for New Rules. She could have afforded to shoot a video where she pops in and out of random social situations and actually done stuff. The song could have stopped at some point for some dialogue and then continued on. She could have incorporated most of the small details into a better video and made it seem magical as somebody else mentioned. I was hoping we'd get more visual gratification after Sweetest Pie, but this is a video that looks like it'd be for a third single.

It's very British lowbrow fashion. It's very current here atm.

Styled by her long-time collaborator Lorenzo Posocco, Lipa wears a Dion Lee fishnet corset top, navy Martine Rose track pants, and Puma sneakers
