East Asian bird seen for the 1x time in Romania's Danube Delta

A unique discovery was made by the Milvus Group Association in the Danube Delta: a Radde's warbler made its apparition to the astonishment of the research group.

The small bird lives only in Siberia and winters in Southeast Asia. It is the first time it has been observed on the territory of Romania. The Radde's warbler  was seen by a group of ornithologists, who have been in the Danube Delta for several weeks to monitor the autumn migration of migratory birds.

Ornithologists chose to come to the Danube Delta because it is the most suitable place where bird migration can be observed.

The bird was researched, photographed, and then released to continue its journey to warmer countries.

Other unique birds which can sometimes be seen in the Danube Delta are the flamingos-

This is a good sign because it means the Danube Delta has increased its biodiversity and other animals consider it worth to be living there.

Donkeys also live in the wild in the Tarutyns'kyj steppe at the outskirts of Danube Delta and plans exist to re-wild them into DD proper:

All in all, the Danuble Delta has a wide range of wildlife and the area needs to be protected.

 

By the way, the Great Flamingo youtube video that you posted, the flamingos in it look like swans after plastic surgery since their iconic pink-coloured legs are underwater and invisible
