HausOfHarlow 378
I always thought the tracklist order was good, but I wish it was shortened just a little bit and some of the titles are switched up. I also thought a good name for the album could be Heirlooms. That's the title I gave my playlist on Spotify. Heirloom: heir·loom - /ˈerˌlo͞om/ - noun - a valuable object that has belonged to a family for several generations. The idea of calling the album Heirlooms surrounds the idea of the album being personal and having some deeper ties to familial issues. While an heirloom is typically a physical object, I'm more-so being conceptual in the regards of family secrets and stories being "heirlooms" of the family. 1. The Grants 4:05 (no intro) 2. Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd 4:45 3. American ***** 5:05 (full worded title) 4. Jimmy (Interlude) 2:13 5. Candy Necklace 5:14 6. Heirlooms (ft. Jon Batiste) 3:33 (I like the idea of the title track being nothing related to the title, therefore, this is the Jon Batiste Interlude. 7. Kintsugi 6:19 8. Paris, TX 2:44 (shortened, removed piano intro) 9. Good Intentions 4:00 (Grandfather, renamed) 10. Let the Light In (ft. Father John Misty) 4:38 11. Buddy's Rendezvous 5:01 12. Margaret (ft. Bleachers) 5:33 (Deluxe Edition Bonus Tracks) - I hate the idea of a "deluxe edition" but the next songs are so jarringly different sounding that I can't help but make a deluxe edition. 13. Fishtail 4:02 14. Taco Truck 2:57 (shortened - regular verse/chorus/outro, cut off before VB kicks in. I love when albums conclude with an extended instrumental outro (like This Is What Makes Us Girls, Flipside, Get Free, etc.) Cuts: The Grants intro, Sweet, Judah Smith, Fingertips (too long-winded, too personal), Peppers. I sorta want to include an expanded edition, maybe released at a later date, which includes any previously-released song from the "Heirlooms" era. Maybe a 1st year anniversary edition. This would include: Watercolor Eyes, Say Yes To Heaven, Hollywood Bowl, Lost at Sea, Life Lesson, Suburban House, - and maybe with that, the inclusion of some "new" tracks, such as the cut ones above - Sweet, Fingertips, Peppers - not Judah Smith Interlude.
