Canadas birthrate has dropped to levels below 2005... In 2005 Canada had 10M fewer ppl than today to have babies (30M vs 40M today) showing how low the numbers have fallen

 

Canada at just over 1.3 babies has had rates fall close to levels just above China, Greece and Italy among the worlds lowest birth rates

 

Unlike much of the rest of the world, in Canada stats show higher income people actually have more babies than lower income. The severe housing crisis is being blamed

 

Many surveyed say they would love to have a child but cannot afford a reasonable place to raise a family as much of the population is confined to basements and tiny apartments or condos

 

Much of the population that owns larger homes, are older population that is now too old to have children

It's pretty much the same for many countries. Here we have additional a crisis in child care and education with a shortage of teachers and too many pupils because of immigration.  And obviously without childcare people can't have kids because both parents have to work. It's quite sad. My partner and me would love to have kids but will have to wait for financial stability ( and by the time we have succeeded in having this, we will probably be too old for own kids).
