Brazil was one of the first Countries in the world where white and black ppl mixing became socially acceptable. So im surprised at this

Anyway im assuming this is just some youtubers opinionated list and not based on any major real legitimate studies?

His sources are in the videos description, and I have definitely heard of the racism within Brazil over the years now actually… 🤷🏾‍♂️

Like, their president literally said Brazilians come from the jungle and Mexicans come from Indians but they come from European ships. Whole time he’s looking like a toad. :air:

No matter how racist France is, it cannot be higher than the US :billie:

I agree with Switzerland though (not sure I'd put it above the US either)

Italy should definitely be up higher :billie:
Idk, there's a series on TikTok that's called "Places I Did Not Feel Safe as a Solo Black Woman" by Rayven_Sumone and I think she does a better job detailing the specific and personal experiences of her travels; whether it's racism, misogyny or just a city that scams the absolute f*ck out of tourists.

She also has a series talking about the most safe places and, funnily enough, has put Columbia in the safe category. :oprah: So it really comes down to personal experience, I suppose.

It's still a growing series, but it's informative content and she really emphasizes that she's doing these trips alone which is scary, but I admire her for it.

CHOMP.

As a Brazilian brown skin guy I can confirm you that. I was once walking through a park back home from college with uniform and everything and a cop came from nowhere and put me against the wall checking on me and looking for drugs, it was one of the worst feelings.

The thing is people in general get surprised by things like these because the ideas about Brazil are always related to happy people and parties most of the times.

We have so many good people in the country of course but also we have a lot of ignorance as a society and racism is indeed one of the strongest issues in Brazil.

And his candidate lost the primary elections. And he was denounced for discrimination. But since he's left leaning people were willing to give him a pass.

My country is racist, no one can deny that, our main current issue is the invisibilization that racialized people go through (which you're not helping by further invisibilizing them with these kind of comments) and acknowledging the historical processes it derives from. That being said, we were never segregated since the end of slavery, for example (which in a way is a contributing factor to the perceived "whiteness" of the population, even when more than 40% is mixed, with over 30% being native mixed and around 4% being Afro, since mixed relationships were socially acceptable from the get go), and that happened quite early in our history.

The ignorance of your comments just show that you're, maybe, slightly xenophobic.
