Sounds cute but why does it have to be 7 minutes long?

We're in a drought of any new music; I welcome a 7 minute song tbh :tony:

Hmmm. I’ll save my judgement for now. But hearing the 2 snippets so far makes me feel as though the song just does not blend well.
Personally feel like it’s gonna be 7 minutes of “noise”.
I hope I’m wrong.

Homegirl, in what world is this noise?

EDIT: I saw your updated post, disregard

Hearing this makes me wish she’d release a whole record that feels like her cover of, “If I Ever Lose My Faith” by Sting 🥹

It’s been long established that when fans say they want rock, they usually mean pop rock a la Paramore or Avril Lavigne as opposed to actual rock music. Not that there’s anything wrong with those two, just explains the inconsistencies with the expectations.

I personally disagree. I think fans that have been wanting it have heard her more rock renditions performed live of her hits such as Just Dance, Poker Face, Love Game and Paparazzi and wanted something similar to that. I know I’d love an album that takes a bit more inspiration from Evanescence, Alanis Morisette, No Doubt, and 4 Non-blondes. Tracks along the lines of DITD, Government Hooker, Judas, HML, Electric Chapel, Manicure, G.U.Y., Diamond Heart, Perfect Illusion, John Wayne, Angel Down, Shallow, Replay(Dorian Electra remix),and 911(Dawn of Chromatica mix). Derive a lot of influence from late 80’s-early 00’s rock influences for a more contemplative, deep, allegorical, and sometimes dark album. I’d love an album that derives heavy influence from late 80’s-early 00’s rock(Aerosmith, Nirvana, Alanis Morissette, Smashing Pumpkins, Shinedown, Evanescence, No Doubt, Pearl Jam, etc) combine it with synth (Kate Bush, Dawn FM by The Weekend, X-Files, Stranger Things), hip-hop beats, alternative(MGMT, M83), some modern pop acts(Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Lana Del Rey, and MGK) along with some lesser known pop acts(Sophie, Dorian Electra, etc). Make it her own using her own writing sensibilities.

However, there are a lot of different directions I’d like to see her go in. I really wanted to see an ARTPOP re-release that included a number of unreleased songs and her songs remixed and featuring collabs from lesser known and big acts such as Bad Bunny, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, BTS, Britney Spears, Janelle Monáe, etc. going for a Dawn of Chromatica meets Taylor’s Version type of re-release. I’d imagine giving off a heavier global pop/EDM influenced album. I think going for re-releases of her albums along with a decent amount of new, unreleased material that has all been remixed by a collection of current, underground, up and coming as well as previously big acts could help keep her dance-pop fans satisfied while reintroducing her music to younger generations. That way she can explore other genres and be a bit more experimental with future albums and collabs while still retaining relevancy, sharing her love for pop music, and keeping fans of her older style satisfied.

Ultimately I think what fans want and enjoy is something raw and emotional. The ‘rah rah rah roma ma’ part of Bad Romance may be complete jibberish but you can hear a sense of conviction in her voice a raw, powerful, and twisted anger delivered from that line. Similarly in Shallow the bridge may just be jibberish wailing but it gives goosebumps as she has a tender vulnerable moment as she succumbs to her stronger and more powerful emotions that she feels in that song.
