People "created" language, and by widely using a term in a different way, it's effectively changed, or can be used in different ways. What he's been doing is clearly gaybaiting/queerbaiting. I guess the question remains if he is only attracted to women (which I suspect), or if he's bi and it's just a huge coincidence that there's no evidence of him being involved with/attracted to a man besides his potential gaybaiting.
