I liked Sour, thought it had some of the best singles of the decade so far, but it definitely left something to be desired for me, but Guts is ****ing phenomenal. Sonically, she didn’t deviate too far from Sour, just perfected what worked on the first go around. Reinventing the wheel every album cycle really pigeonholes an artist sometimes, I’m glad she didn’t fall for that. The honesty, vulnerability, and self awareness is felt throughout. How a Disney star didn’t get chained to the squeaky clean image is a miracle. Olivia Rodrigo is going to have a long, fruitful career ahead of her if she continues this trajectory.
