Her limiting replies + a non apology…

Yeah… we don’t NEED Roisin tbh, she hasn’t dropped a banger in years

'transphobia is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have... but I have it' :koons:

I’m not super into the trans movement lore so maybe I’m missing something, but I’m genuinely confused as to how gays have more fights and respect than trans people do. It was always LGBT. The four + more. Together. Trans discussions feel like they’re where gays are in like 2007 and it’s so sad, infuriating and confusing to see.

Trans people led the gay rights movement along with lesbians. Without them, the community would not be where it is today.

But over the years, cisgender gay men have discovered that they can scapegoat those sides of the community in order to make themselves look better. They believe that if they can convince homophobes that they too see an issue with trans people, then when it comes down to it the homophobes will come for the trans people and not them.

We're only just now really learning en masse the scope of the mental aspect of being trans. We've only just recently really defined this as a real thing rather than a social thing or a passing fad. We're being educated more and more every day on the fact that being trans is as real as being cis. But with the education of it being in its infancy, it's easy to set it up for being attacked. Back in the day, before medicine was able to definitively say being gay wasn't a mental illness, it was the same.

Most people don't understand trans issues, and this has led to a lot of misinformation becoming common mainstream talking points. That unwillingness to be educated extends to the rest of the queer community, and a lot of it stems from a complete unwillingness to educate or be an ally because a lot of cis gay men see being trans as wrong. It's rooted in the idea of appealing to your enemy as I mentioned above but it's also rooted in misogyny that's inherent in most men. They don't respect trans men because they still view that individual as a woman and they don't respect trans women because they don't respect women.

lol, this is a pretty solid statement from a grown up human being. She said she’s gonna distance herself from the discussion IN PUBLIC because she knows when she’s not informed enough.

Some of y’all really need to grow up and do some reflecting and learn forgiveness..

Beautifully said. I’ve only noticed the scapegoating recently (like Gays against Groomers, the LGB movement) but I didn’t know it was so prevalent. I totally understand the concept of using a group beneath you to gain acceptance and it’s such a sinister tactic that’s been used time and time again.

So sad. But yeah… I’m not waving a white flag or anything. JK Rowling and her types cannot lie in peace :grr:

Solid =/ Not restating your comment and how its not true

But as a cis gay man myself, my comments and apology doesn’t matter that much on this, so don’t take my bangers comment seriously. Hope that helps 💘

My comment wasn't necessarily directed at you, even tho I don't get the "we don't NEED [...]" thing-y..

it was more so directed at people clearly not understanding how reality works and how the line of actions in situations like these play out. Some people just wanna continue the s.piling on her without admitting when everything is said and done. It's not my place to assume how many people in the discussion are directly effected by her initial comment, but I agree with you on the part of own identity implications, i also am a cis white guy and its not my place to negate the fact that trans people might have been hurt by that comment (yes, i said "might" not every human being cares about the same things to the same extent, „even" trans people (i hope the sarcasm came through..)) , but i CAN speak on what i think is wrong, and thats the way some handle the discussion and plainly just try to get their own little self righteous ego busting on a discussion they deem fitting.

Awh no worries, I’m not offended my your comment. I just wanted to make a point that this apology is for only trans people, I’m not seriously targeting you. If I’m being serious, good on her for realizing she’s not educated and taking a step back from it all. I just hope she actually learns and I don’t think she’s a malicious person.

She better resist the urge from the fascists I’m her comments abusing the response like “you’ll never please the woke crowd” as if you could ever please the fascist crowd by being anything but a straight white man ☠️ She’s smart enough to avoid being a political prop, though

Hope she enjoys her fishing trip before returning next week to promote her album release 💘☠️☠️☠️

That is not at all what she said.

She said that her views are fixed and that they aren't going to change. She didn't actually apologize for any damage she did, she only said she was sorry it went public. She openly declared that she was going to continue being an uneducated transphobe, she was just gonna do it in private like that's somehow better.

I'm not gonna forgive someone who chooses to be ignorant. I'm not gonna forgive someone who chooses to, even in the face of being told their wrong, refuse to educate themselves and step out of the conspiracy rabbit hole they're in.

Make no mistake--her statement was transphobic. And do not take her follow up message as some kind of apology for that. She still believes it and has made it clear she is not open to hearing any opposing viewpoints. She said explicitly that she's willing to let anyone who disagrees with her drop her.

I'm not gonna respect someone with such a nasty point of view, but especially not someone who refuses to learn.

If at some point she decides to come back to the table and requests some open and honest discussion and education, I'll gladly support giving it to her. Until then, I've no reason to hold any respect for her statement.

You do you boo :)

honestly, I truly feel sorry for you not being able to see the brighter side of things, but turning it so intensely negative, using all these big words and „nasty“ interpretations. I hope you’ll find  the time and support you need to view other opinions from more than your side, i think it’ll be a wonderful day. xx
