Guest 142,365
Abba member Björn Ulvaeus is among a group of musicians that will “help inform YouTube’s approach to generative AI in music.” In a statement on Monday, Abba's Bjorn Ulvaeus said: “While some may find my decision controversial, I’ve joined this group with an open mind and purely out of curiosity about how an AI model works and what it could be capable of in a creative process. “I believe that the more I understand, the better equipped I’ll be to advocate for and to help protect the rights of my fellow human creators.” Dubbed the YouTube AI Music Incubator, the program includes a wide range of artists, songwriters, and producers from Universal Music Group, including Anitta, Björn Ulvaeus, Juanes, Max Richter, Rosanne Cash, Ryan Tedder, Yo Gotti, and the Estate of Frank Sinatra. Alongside the Incubator, YouTube has published a set of 3 AI music principles, which the company’s CEO claims demonstrates the service’s commitment to work with the music industry. The first principle states that “AI is here, and we will embrace it responsibly together with our music partners.” The second claims that “AI is ushering in a new age of creative expression, but it must include appropriate protections and unlock opportunities for music partners who decide to participate.” The third principle asserts that YouTube has already “built an industry-leading trust and safety organization and content policies” and that it “will scale those to meet the challenges of AI.” source source "You b*tch!" ~ Rat Boy
bionic 47,637
I expect someone like Bjorn sees AI as another opportunity for his musicality to live on through eternity. As a consumer who has a perishable lifespan I have no interest in that when manmade music will 99% of the time be superior stream bionic
Anderson123 37,182
I think I saw a YouTube video of him saying he was impressed by that technology and that the AI made an ABBA song in minutes and he really liked it or something like that. That could be an interesting project if they decide to do a follow up to Voyage.
