gaga and taylor are both amazing artists who reinvent themselves in completely different ways.

taylor is the songwriting queen of endless genres. i was stunned at the eras tour how she managed to keep a stadium so engaged and singing every word during everything from pop to country to folklore and evermore. 

gaga is the queen of always doing the unexpected (from ARTPOP to jazz to joanne to asib to chromatica to house of gucci to love for sale to chromatica ball).

both artists are once in a lifetime type of icons. anyone suggesting otherwise is silly

I think her influence was def on a generation of diaristic singer songwriter girlies. It had been done before in the 90s ofc and the 70s before that BUT I think in the 2000s gen, she definitely had led that charge and inspired a lot of up and coming songwriters. All that said, do I think that’s the same as MJ or Madonna? Nah but I think her impact is there just not very aesthetically distinctively. But again I also don’t think she’s really tried to do that either! So I think people need to level set the comparisons a bit
