My initial reaction was Bad Romance, but I thought about how the beginning of Poker Face pumps me up every time, sometimes Bad Romance’s slower BPM makes it harder to get into like on shuffle or something. They both have amazing music videos, Bad Romance’s being SO iconic, but the Harlequin-inspired imagery in Poker Face and cool yet alluring demeanor she so perfectly embodies really sets her up as a force to be reckoned with in the pop landscape (also feels pretty prophetic considering she is now playing ~Lee 15 years later). The rhythmic, almost raplike quality of Poker Face’s verses is also very hypnotic, then bursts into the soaring chorus CANT READ MY CANT READ MY! Ask me to name a second one and out will come the words Bad Romance. Even though I love Just Dance now, it never registered with me, and Shallow, even though it's the song that lured me down this rabbit hole (from which there is no escape), is not it.
