Not really that big of a mess, it’s super clear here that no one meant to offend or hate…

I think he had Judas in his mind, as friend who betrayed him but he kinda messed up

he apologized since then

so it's not really a mess, just bad wording

Controversiaga

People need to stop using mythology as a means to justify real life behaviors/actions of people.

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Like he said the "they" was directed to his friend, I guess he didn't want to expose the gender of the person so he made the tweet pretty vague.

"a fake friend" would have been much clearer and a much clearer reference to the betrayal of Jesus

the tweet is a mess, but it's not antisemitic, I'm Jewish I know when to play the victim and cry antisemitism :emma:, but this one is just not the moment lol

He didn't mean Jewish folks.

It's not uncommon in AAVE to bring up Judas as a betrayer when calling out fake people, but I get how it can be interpreted a different way considering he said "they." But I thought it was pretty obvious that was clearly "not" what he meant by his tweet.

if you're confused by what someone said, ask them what they mean instead of going straight to outrage

especially when you have such a big platform :fail:

But if your thought always was „fake friend“ you wouldn’t come to the conclusion that it reads differently. Mistakes are obvious looking backwards. But not so much looking forwards.

Not defending anything, but it could just not have crossed his mind that people could interpret it differently.
