RichAssPiss 4,939
Why was this not the legit fourth single? It has such a fun summer vibe. I want this on radio more than Satellite.
dit 46,516
I love it when artists give their fans a full fleshed out era and lots of visuals even if music videos are kind of dead. It shows they are committed to their album and to their giving their fans fun content to consume even if it wont necessarily be a hit. I appreciate that. Especially for really established artists who can afford to do that.

Songs now go viral or reach top 10 often without music videos whereas before that was pretty rare and uncommon. Music videos served as the best marketing tools for songs for ages. People just want to hear the music which is fine and fair but visuals was such a big part of the fun of the music industry tbh. It's another form of expression that is now just dying because it has become too expensive and there is hardly a return in investment anymore. It's why we see artists struggling to get a budget to film more than like 2 or 3 music videos per era now. That's why when an artist gives their fans more videos fans should be greatful because it could mean the artist is actually paying out of pocket at some point (see all the more indie pop artists). Alternatively it could just be because the album is so big that the label is ok with splurging on more than 3 videos (see Dua Lipa or Taylor Swift for example) That said, the industry itself is partly to blame too. It's not just because streaming took over than music videos are dead. It's also because artists themselves have been submitting subpar videos for a good chunk of time since like the 2015 onwards tbh. Gaga was part of a few artists who rejuvenated the music video model from like 2008 onwards but that boost died out (admittedly even in Gaga's own videography) past like 2015. Rarely do you get a really solid mv anymore. This is why industries that thrive on visuals like k-pop are still doing great figures still with their videos because they really give the audiences visual treats worth experiencing more than once.
