I think we have to be pragmatic and see this situation for what it is. I agree that the Supreme Court has made questionable and clearly biased decisions, but this ruling might actually be fairer. 

I will caveat and say universities must be able to offer admissions support for those from poorer socio-economic backgrounds, which at present will benefit non-white populations but won't exclude those that also need help the most.

The good news, as a consequence of this ruling, there's early signs universities will retaliate by ramping up support with needs-based support, which could contribute more to ending racism than affirmative action will.
