Padam Padam reaches the top 10 on the UK Singles chart

In its fourth week on the Official Charts, Kylie's smash hit "Padam Padam" reaches number 9, becoming her 35th UK Top 10 single!

The Lostboy-produced electro banger, which serves as the lead single from Kylie's upcoming album Tension, becomes her first Top 10 single since "Higher" (a collaboration with Taio Cruz, which peaked at number 8 back in 2011).

Boosted by rising streaming numbers, a surprise performance at Capital's Summertime Ball and the release of retro cassette singles, "Padam Padam" sold 25,867 copies this week.

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Kylie Minogue says: "This is truly amazing and 19 year old me would say the same thing! I am so thankful to everyone involved with Padam Padam and am astounded at how people have made it their own. The song belongs to everyone now and I’m loving every second of it."

Chart analyst James Masterton praised Kylie for having "bridged a generation gap with a hit record that is reaching out both to her loyal (and ageing) acolytes but also a new generation of music fans."
