Nnnnnnn, I cannot imagine how stressful  that pressure would feel :air:

Hope there will be 3-5 extra dates for Brazil, if this one sold out in minutes. Like, if Coldplay can do 10 days in Argentina, I am sure with this kind of queue, the demands are there for Taylor in Brazil! They deserve it!

This is a genuine question. But why/how come Taylor is THIS popular? He music isn't anything special. I don't understand.

You kind of answered your question. Her music is easily palatable to the masses, which makes her accessible more people. It's not "weird" or hard to understand.

She also engages a lot with her fans, which encourages a parasocial relationship and makes them love her even more.

Additionally, she consistently puts out new music, which keeps her fanbase fed.

She also knows how to work the media to keep herself in the spotlight when she wants.

Same. I really don't get it. Like, if people enjoy her music that's fine. But this level of obsession for someone like Taylor is... confusing to me.

She has a strong fan base because she panders to them and is constantly entertaining them. Her music appeals to everyone and she’s a great lyricist

We're throwing a pizza party and need to order for a bunch of people. We get one with Buffalo chicken because some people like it. Some prefer Hawaiian so we get a one or two of those. BBQ? One of those bc that floats somebody's boat. And which toppings are on the other 10 pizzas? Just plain ol cheese. Because some might call it bland, but no one says ew to inoffensive cheese pizza. It's the safe choice.

She doesn't seem to have anything booked after the Brazil dates, so she could easily add a couple more

because she's an international artist coming to Brazil, the thread makes it look like it's Taylor-specific, but it's pretty much for every international artist, Brazil is a country that many artists ignore during their world tour, despite the big fan bases.

Also the last time she was there was on 2012 for a short performance in the XuXa show, it's 11 years of wait, so of course the demand is high, it could be the last possibility to see her, she may not go to Brazil in the future.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I think it also became the hype about the hype and more so about the community, not necessarily about her/her music. If you see all these people getting excited to see other excited people, I think that’s most of the fun.
The other day I heard something kinda similar to it, when someone talked about Carly Rae Jepsen. They said she’s not the most talented vocalist, nor does she put on crazy performances, but her music brings so much joy to a so specific group of people, that by now she could never release new music and just perform her first albums up til maybe Dedication singles and she’d be booked and blessed for the rest of her life.
and I think if you start looking into other artists that are popping right now you’ll find similar trends. more about the community and the feeling of belonging and less about that one person miles away on a lit up stage

But it's also not like people dont flock like this in other countries though.
